It’s Mind Over Matter

Life is always trying to teach you something. Any situation, problem or person that is bringing you discomfort is meant to challenge you. Growing is uncomfortable. Learning can be uncomfortable, but it’s all about your mindset and how you decide to look at these situations.

Anything that annoys you is teaching you patience. Anything you can’t control is teaching you how to let go. Anything that has power over you is teaching you how to take your power back.

Anyone who abandons you is teaching you how to stand on your own two feet. Anything that upsets you is teaching you forgiveness and compassion.

Every time we encounter some kind of obstacle, whether it’s someone saying something mean or challenging your capabilities, life is trying to teach us something. The way we decide to perceive these challenges is up to us. You can blame the world for your problems or you can look at it from a gratuitous perspective.

It’s all about your mindset.

Do you accept the situation at face value? Or do you do something about it?

It’s mind over matter. Always.

Here are a few life lessons that I’ve learned along the way. Each situation poses different challenges; however, as many say, it’s not about what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.

Love and accept yourself. Your body is your sanctuary.

People can say whatever they want to say. Their opinions are none of your business.

Growing up in Vietnamese culture, the ideal way a woman should look: light-skin, big eyes, small nose, and petite. The women in my immediate family do not look like that. We are more “voluptuous” than your typical Asian female physique. My mother has big hips and like mom, all her daughters have wide-set hips as well.

One day, I was going into a Vietnamese store to pick up wedding invitations. The saleswoman said “you’re so pretty, but you would be so much prettier if you were skinnier.” A complete stranger told me this. Did it bother me? Absolutely. Did it affect the way I thought of myself? No. Why? As a woman in society and growing up Vietnamese, we are told that we are not enough much too often – not pretty enough, not smart enough, not thin enough…the list goes on and on.

Self-love. Self-respect. Self-care. There’s a reason why these all start with “self.” You can’t find them anywhere else, but within you.

Self-love is something that cannot be taught, which makes it all the more difficult to learn. We all struggle with self-esteem and it’s often easier to notice the things we hate about ourselves instead of the things we love. Embrace yourself. Your body, your curves, your tummy, your love handles… and most importantly your intellect.

Be confident. Your unique characteristics are what make you beautiful – what makes you different; what makes you UNIQUE. OWN IT. You are beautiful just the way you are!

You are worthy of everything you’ve ever dreamed of and MORE.

Never let anyone hinder you from pursuing your dreams. All dreams can come true, if you have the courage to pursue them!

My parents have always told me that I could be anything, do anything my heart desired and they would support it. Now, I’m not sure if that’s 100% true as most Asian parents hope their children will become doctors, lawyers, or dentists. And I just happen to be studying medicine; but nonetheless, this is my dream and I am working to make it come true.

I have been told that I shouldn’t be a doctor. That I’m only nice to patients because I get paid. That I am not worthy of the jobs that I have been given. That I will never make it into medical school. That I could never graduate early. That I am too strong. That I am too confident. That I am too ambitious. Sure, there is always room for improvement. However, if I believed any of these statements, I would have succumbed to the limitations set by others and never gotten to where I am today.

Don’t ever let anyone discourage you. You are absolutely worthy and deserving of everything you’ve ever wished for. Just keep doing you and work hard to reach your goals. People will hate and that’s okay. Smile and move on.

The road may not be easy, but anything that’s worth anything never is. Dream big, work hard and make your dreams come to fruition. You will make it through!

There are no limitations to what we can do. The limitations are set in our minds.

My parents escaped Vietnam after the Vietnam War, often referred to as ’the boat people’ because they escaped on a boat in the middle of the night to avoid being caught by the Communist government. Each escaped separately from different parts of Central Vietnam and both ended up in the same refugee camp in Hong Kong.

My dad saw mom from across the camp, too shy to say hello, but admired her from a distance. I guess you can call it fate. Both were transferred to a refugee camp in the Philippines and eventually sponsored to America. My dad was sponsored to Minnesota and Mom was sponsored to California. My dad worked and spent his savings to fly to California and be with my mom.

Together, they built a business, raised four daughters, put them all through college, allowing us to pursue our dreams. If that isn’t the American dream, then I don’t know what is. Because of my parents, I’ve had the privilege to graduate from my dream school and now pursuing a career in medicine.

Hundreds of thousands of people died attempting to escape Vietnam during that time. Many didn’t make it to land and most died in the ocean en route to a country that would accept Vietnamese refugees. Family members were tortured and killed by the Vietnamese government if they knew of someone escaping and didn’t report them.

The risk my parents took to flee a country in pursuit of a better life displays not just their bravery, but courage, tenacity and grit. No one paved the way for either of them. But together, they paved their own path and have laid the foundation for many generations to come.

Life has no limitations, except the ones you make. If there is a will, there is a way.

Our mindsets affect our actions, our perspectives and our experiences. We are only human. There will always be challenges to overcome. If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you. We are forever evolving into hopefully, better versions of ourselves everyday. My dad always says that life is a battlefield. And it is, but we must learn to hold and use our own swords. We are strong enough to face it all, even if it doesn’t feel like it right now.

Tell yourself: I know you’re doing the best you can. I believe in you. Keep going.

Our life is shaped by our mind, for we become what we think.

growth versus fixed mindset

5 Tips for Being a Successful Mompreneur

5 Tips for Being a Successful Mompreneur

Olivia is a business and marketing coach

Olivia Radcliffe is a business and marketing coach. She is the Founder & CEO of The Bluebell Group.  View profile

On February 29th, 2020, I welcomed my son into the world. It was by far the single most amazing moment in my life, bar none.

Approximately two weeks later, we went on lockdown due to the pandemic. Over the next few months, I found myself trying to balance learning how to be a good mom, keeping my household running, the dog walked, the cats fed, working a full-time job from home, and running a growing full-time business. Without childcare.

My new title: Single Working Stay-At-Home Mompreneur.

What is a Mompreneur?

Wikipedia defines a Mompreneur as: a female business owner who is actively balancing the role of mom and the role of entrepreneur.

I have my own definition: a superhero (of any gender) who is raising the next generation while serving others through their business.

For each superhero that tackles this feat, though, there’s a lot at stake. Focus too much on your business, and you feel like you’re dropping the ball as a mom. Don’t focus enough on your business, and you feel like you’re going to fail and not be able to provide financially for your family.

Tips for being a successful Mompreneur

Women don’t just have two choices anymore after becoming moms: go back to work or be a stay-at-home mom.

With the technological revolution of the digital era and the rise of easily accessible online business tools, it’s possible to have a thriving business AND a happy family. Here are 5 tips for being a successful Mompreneur.

1. Plan ahead

This one can sound like a bad joke to most moms who know that when you have kids, all plans go out the window.

That being said, it’s worth taking the time to plan out your week. Take note of important calls and meetings you’ll need quiet for and schedule them for nap time, when possible.

Writing out the big events of the week can help you make sure you’re not accidentally rushing to a routine pediatrician appointment 30 minutes before a meeting with a client (been there, done that).

Meanwhile, planning the little things, like knowing what you’re going to serve for meals (and meal-prepping when possible!), can help juggling those big things go a bit smoother.

2. Create a routine

For me and my son, our routine is essential. Of course it changes as his needs do, but having clear morning, mealtime, and bedtime steps helps him to know what to expect – and makes my job a bit easier.

Routines help provide a sense of safety and security for children. Knowing what will happen next can give babies and toddlers a sense of comfort, freeing their minds to do their “work” – playing, exploring, and learning.

Having a routine with self-care steps built in will also help you develop and stick with good habits.

3. Get your kids to help

If you have school-age children or older, why not get them to help? You can get some work done while teaching them valuable life lessons.

For the school-age children, have them do small tasks that can keep them busy and give you some time to focus.

For older kids/teens, are there any tasks related to your business they can help with directly?

One of my clients was struggling to keep up with her social media posts, so she asked her teenage daughter to help. It was a win/win/win for her, her daughter, and her business. Her daughter enjoyed the chance to demonstrate her Insta-post crafting skills, made a little bit of money on the side, and learned about running a business. Meanwhile, my client had her business profit from the routine social exposure and her time was freed up, allowing her to focus on other tasks.

4. Know when to multitask…

I don’t think there’s anyone better at multitasking than a mom……except maybe a Mompreneur.

Both raising kids and running a business require you to have a lot up in the air at once. Multitasking is essential to keeping up with all of your daily to-dos.

If you don’t already, try listening to trainings or podcasts while you’re in the car, cleaning up around the house, or getting ready for your day or for bed. (Seriously, if you have to stand there for two minutes brushing your teeth anyways, you might as well be learning something. For an added boost, do squats while you’re at it! Just kidding. Kinda…)

5. …And know when to be present

But for as much multitasking as you need to do during your day, there are times when you need to be fully and completely present with what you’re doing.

When you’re spending time interacting with your kids, be present with them. Don’t answer emails or check your Facebook notifications. Children can feel when you’re not present with them, and can respond by acting out to try to get your full attention.

The same also goes for your business. As much as possible, try not to have disruptions during your client calls or when interacting with business partners or vendors. Show them that you respect their time and business by being completely present for them. This can be a bit harder if you have a baby or younger child, and I will always tell you to put your child’s safety and wellbeing before your business.

When all is said and done, the most important thing to remember is this:

You can’t do it all.

Don’t get me wrong! I fully believe you can do anything if you put your mind and heart to it. But you can’t do everything all at once.

Sit down and prioritize your goals. See what feels right to you, and then write them out. And let the rest go (for now). When you accomplish a goal or your goals shift, move on to the next.

Running a successful, profitable business and raising happy, healthy kids at the same time is possible. It will take some planning, hard work, and a ton of support. Keep your community around you including our Womanly Inspiration FB Group, so we can lift you up as needed and celebrate your successes as they come!

How to Choose the Right Probiotic Supplement

How to Choose the Right Probiotic Supplement

Have you ever thought that the more you try to look after your health and wellbeing, the more confusing it gets? Are you fed up with the way the rules and guidelines keep changing like the wind?

Don’t worry; you are not alone. When I speak to prospective clients, they often cite this as a reason for their struggle in meeting their health goals. It becomes so difficult for them to navigate through all the conflicting information that they give up. One area that causes a lot of confusion is around gut health and whether or not we should be taking probiotic supplements to help restore balance within our gut. So, I wrote this short post to hopefully make things a little clearer.

PROBIOTIC SUPPLEMENTS 101

WHAT ARE PROBIOTICS?

Probiotics are live bacteria that naturally reside in the gut. They are also found in many different foods such as yoghurt and kefir and also in a dietary supplement. When taken in adequate amounts, probiotics can potentially improve your health.

WHY SHOULD I TAKE A PROBIOTIC SUPPLEMENT?

You don’t necessarily need to take a probiotic supplement. In fact, for general health reasons, there is no evidence to support their use. The best way to optimize your gut health, and therefore your overall health is to eat a balanced diet rich in a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and seeds. It is also vital that you exercise regularly, manage your stress, and get adequate, good quality sleep.

There is some evidence that certain strains of bacteria can help certain conditions, primarily within digestive health.  However, it is important to remember that we are all different, just like the community of microorganisms that live in our gut. So, a probiotic supplement that helps one person might not help someone else. That is why the evidence around this topic can be confusing.

ARE THERE ANY RISKS TO TAKING A PROBIOTIC SUPPLEMENT

For the most part probiotics are safe however, if you have a chronic disease, are being treated for cancer, are immune compromised or pregnant you should not take a probiotic without speaking to your Physician, Registered Dietitian or Pharmacist first.

WHAT SHOULD WE LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A PROBIOTIC SUPPLEMENT?

When choosing a probiotic supplement, you should follow these steps:

1. Match the probiotic strain to your symptoms or whatever it is that you want help with.

Your Physician, Registered Dietitian, or Pharmacist should be able to help you with this.

2. Check if there is scientific evidence to support its health claims.

Look for a brand that is supported by scientific research. Finding this information may require some digging on their website.

3. Look to see if it provides an effective dose.

CFU stands for Colony-Forming Units, and this tells you the number of living microorganisms in a dose. The number of CFU you need depends on your health and intended use of the probiotic. If you are using them for a specific health purpose, look for a probiotic with around 15-50 billion CFU’s.

4. Make sure that it is safe for you to take.

Probiotics are safe for most people but talk to your doctor or pharmacist first if you have any underlying illness; you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or are buying them for a child.

5. See if it is appropriately labelled?

Make sure the label gives you:

  • Clear direction on how and when to take them.
  • Details on where and how they should be stored.
  • Information on how long the bacteria should survive -The expiration date is just as crucial as the CFU. Only buy a product with an expiration date that reads “viable through end of shelf life” or even “live cultures guaranteed.”

Short Article Review

  • The potential health benefits from consuming probiotics as a food or supplement is an exciting and rapidly growing area in nutrition.
  • Probiotics are not necessarily suitable for everyone so speak to your Physician, Registered Dietitian or Pharmacist before taking them.
  • For general health reasons taking a probiotic is probably unnecessary. It is more beneficial to focus on your overall diet and lifestyle as a whole.
  • There is good evidence to support their use in a variety of conditions, primarily within digestive health.
  • To get results you must take the correct strains appropriate for addressing your specific health concerns and at the right dose.

Quitting Drinking – An Empowering Lifestyle Choice For Women

Quitting Drinking – An Empowering Lifestyle Choice For Women

Isabelle Griffith

Gayle Macdonald is a teacher, sobriety coach, addiction therapist and founder and owner of Sober BlissView profile

I quit drinking in March 2018, after many years of being stuck in an endless cycle of guilt, shame and regret. That wonderful day when I finally said goodbye to alcohol was the best decision I have ever made and I have since helped many other women break free from the hold that alcohol had over their lives. Choosing to live alcohol free truly is a transformational and empowering experience, I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Alcohol is really bad for us

You don’t need to read the report co-written by professor David Nutt that was published in the Lancet, to know that alcohol is bad for us. The article states that there is no safe level of alcohol which makes sense. Alcohol is a poison and if you have ever suffered the effects of a hangover, drunken behavior, heart wrenching shame, guilt and anxiety because of your drinking, then it stands to reason that when you no longer imbibe this toxic substance, you begin to feel better as the benefits of alcohol free living begin to emerge.

The benefits of quitting drinking

Some of the most talked about benefits of quitting drinking are:

  • Better sleep
  • Clearer skin
  • More energy
  • Weight loss
  • More focus and concentration
  • More time
  • More money
  • Improved relationships

However it is the emotional benefits which are the most transformational and empowering:

  • A feeling that you can do anything
  • Decrease in anxiety
  • Freedom from thinking about drinking
  • A return to self
  • Increased self confidence
  • A feeling of freedom and liberation
  • Gratitude
  • A lightness in spirit and mind

How to quit drinking

Become aware of your current situation

Mindfulness and awareness are the first steps in removing alcohol from your life. In order to make changes in our life we need to be clear about where we are first. Be super curious and honest here.

How is your drinking affecting you?

How much money are you spending on alcohol?

How does alcohol make you feel, before, during and after drinking?

Why are you drinking?

How is alcohol serving you?

What do you want to achieve by drinking?

It is also important not to feel bad about your answers, yes of course there will be feelings and emotions that are triggered by your findings, but do not beat yourself up. Use what you discover to motivate you to take the steps towards change. Your drinking behavior  is not who you are.

Get clear on your why

Having a strong, deep and meaningful reason to change your relationship with alcohol will help you to get started and stay on your path.

Why do you want to do this?

What do want to achieve?

How do you want to feel?

What do you want to do?

Really listening to your body, mind and spirit will help you to connect with your true self and make the reason for quitting drinking deep and true. Once you know deep down why you are taking this step, and I mean really feel it, then there will be no need for struggle and willpower.

Create a vision for your alcohol free life

Once you have a reason for quitting drinking, think about how your life will be when you are finally living alcohol free. What will your life look, taste, smell, sound and feel like? Really connect to these emotions, especially when you find the going tricky. When you connect to yourself and your deeper why, you find the strength and courage to keep going.

Go a step further and visualize your future self living your alcohol free dream life or create a vision board full of positive quotes and images that represent your alcohol free life in all its glory! Come back to this vision often and connect to the emotions that the vision evokes. As, the saying goes, if you can dream it (and feel it) you can live it.

Make a commitment to yourself

Every day commit to this new way of living. You know alcohol does not serve you. Say a prayer, repeat positive affirmations, connect to your dreams and the emotions that come with living free, clean and healthy.

Focus on what you are gaining, always.

Focus on what you are gaining instead of what you think you are missing out on. If you find yourself romanticizing that glass of wine, play the movie forward, focus on what you will gain by not giving in to your craving. No hangovers, better sleep, a feeling of achievement and complete freedom, are just some of the benefits we mentioned above.

Love and honor yourself physically and emotionally

Make your self-care a priority. Walk in nature, meditate, do yoga, pause and breathe deeply, eat well, sleep lots, do things that light you up and fill you with joy, journal, exercise, cry, connect. These activities and strategies will form part of your sober tool kit and will help you through difficult situations or when you find yourself suffering cravings.

Listen to your body and your spirit and do the right thing, the things that nourish your body and soul. Every. Single. Day.

Ask for help when you need it

If you find yourself struggling, or if you feel alone, reach out. Phone a trusted friend, connect to other sober folk in your area, or join a support group. There will always be someone there to listen or to offer words of comfort and encouragement. Don’t wait until things get too much. The moment you feel you need help, that is when you should ask for it.

Alcohol is a poison that seeps into every level of our being. If you have been drinking for a long time, it can be hard to imagine a life without it. But, it is possible to break free from the hold that alcohol has over your life. Not only is it possible, it is the most profound act of self-care and self-love. When you find freedom from drinking, your whole world will open up.  It is as if you are seeing things for the first time. It is truly a powerful transformational experience and will empower you to finally live your life how you have always dreamed.

Short Article Review

  • Alcohol affects every part of our life and the lives of our loved ones.
  • There is no safe level of alcohol.
  • Understand your current situation. If alcohol is making you unhappy, or getting in the way of you living the life you want, then now is the time to let go.
  • Dig deep, understand why you want to have a break from alcohol and connect to this reason often.
  • Create a vision for your alcohol free life and really connect to what it means to you. How do you want to feel?
  • Be kind to yourself and show yourself love and kindness every day.
  • Start to build a sober toolbox full of techniques, activities and strategies that can help you overcome cravings and stay on your path.
  • Ask for help if you are struggling or need some extra support.

Quitting drinking can be difficult, but with the right tools and support, breaking free from alcohol is the most liberating and empowering choice you will ever make.

If you are physically dependent on alcohol, then stopping abruptly can be very dangerous. Please consult your doctor before going alcohol free if you are concerned or worried.

What’s Your Body Type And How To Dress It

What’s Your Body Type And How To Dress It

Kim Hancher

Kim Hancher is a Style Coach who teaches women how to create their unique style and dress their body type.  View profile

You put on the same baggy, ill-fitting clothes you always wear, in an attempt to hide the part of your body that you don’t like. As if the extra yards of fabric will make it go away. You think, “no one will notice my (booty, stomach, bust, etc.) now that I’ve covered my entire body.

You look in the mirror and decide the circus tent you’re wearing has got to go, but it’s late and you have an important meeting first thing, so you head out the door. You feel uncomfortable and self-conscious all day, you can’t wait to get home to put on your sweats and sit on the couch where no one can see you.

Sound familiar?

What if instead you hopped out of bed, knew exactly what to wear, and put on an outfit that highlighted your best features. You look in the mirror once dressed and think, “I nailed it today.”

You slay every meeting you attend, get compliments from the girls at the office on your look, and you come home feeling invigorated and proud of all that you accomplished.

Sounds better, doesn’t it?

This scenario is attainable, you just need to understand your body type and how to dress it. I can help.

Your body type is based on where you carry your weight, which part of your body is bigger than the others. Once you have identified this, you simply need to balance out or fill up the other parts of your body with clothing so that you look proportional. The goal is to have everything below and above the waist appear to be the same size and to define a waistline. An hourglass shape.

It’s really that simple.

The 5 Body Types

These are the main definitions of body types, of course, some have characteristics of both, but one is usually more dominant. That is the one you should focus on when dressing.

Straight: No curves, no natural waist, or hips.

Carry Weight on the Bottom: You carry your weight below your waist, larger hips, thighs, and/or booty.

Proportional: Your top and bottom are the same sizes and you have a waistline that goes in between the top and bottom.

Carry Weight on Top: You carry your weight above your waist, usually in your bust, but sometimes you just have broad shoulders.

Carry Weight in the Middle: Your stomach is larger than your hips and/or bust. This is a rare body type, but a lot of people identify with this one as the stomach can be a trouble area for many.

Guidelines for dressing your body type

Now that you’ve identified your body type, how do you dress it? Below are my suggestions for creating a balanced looking body, no matter what type you have. These are not set in stone, just a place to start. Remember the key is to have your top and bottom in close proportion to one another.

Straight—your top priority is creating a waist and curves for yourself.

What to Wear:

  • Belts
  • Pencil Skirt
  • Wrap Dress
  • Skinny Pants
  • Tailored Clothing
  • Low Necklines
  • Boxy Tops
  • Strapless Dresses of Tops

What to avoid:

  • Oversized clothing

Carry Weight on the Bottom—you are looking to balance things out by adding volume up top. You want to draw the eye up above your waist.

What to Wear:

  • Fit and Flare Dresses
  • Off the Shoulder Tops
  • Structured Jackets
  • A-line Skirts and Dresses
  • Bold Necklaces
  • Dark Pants

What to Avoid:

  • Bold Patterned Skirts and Pants
  • Tunics
  • Extremely Tight Dresses

Proportional—you want to highlight your curves, not cover them up.

What to Wear:

  • Tailored Blazers and Jackets
  • Pencil Skirts
  • Wrap Dresses
  • V-Necks
  • High Rise Pants

What to Avoid:

  • Mini Skirts
  • Tent Dresses
  • Pockets at the Hips

Carry Weight on Top–you want to highlight below your waist, filling it out to equal your bust.

What to Wear:

  • Dark Solid Color Tops
  • V-Necks
  • Cowl Necks
  • Bold Patterned Bottoms
  • Wide Leg Trousers
  • Trouser Jeans
  • Wrap Dresses

What to Avoid:

  • Crew Neck Tops
  • Printed Tops
  • Spaghetti Straps
  • Boxy Tops
  • Skinny Jeans
  • Tight Skirts
  • Cropped Jackets

Carry Weight in the middle—focus on highlighting your shoulders and legs.

What to Wear:

  • V-Neck Tops
  • Wrap Dresses
  • Fit and Flare Dresses
  • A-Line Skirts
  • Wide Leg Trousers
  • Flowy Tops
  • Shift Dress

What to Avoid:

  • Tight-fitting tops
  • Leggings
  • Skinny Jeans
  • Baggy Clothing
  • Ruffles

Need more help?

If you’re not sure which body type you are, grab a soft tape measure and measure your hips, waist, and chest at the largest part of each body part. Write down those numbers and head to this website and enter your measurements. This will calculate and then identify your body type. You can then follow the guidelines above to dress with more confidence each day based on your body type.

If there is something that you love to wear, but it’s on the avoid list for your body type, do not be discouraged. Give some of these other suggestions on what to wear a try. See how it looks and makes you feel. If you still really love that forbidden item and it makes you feel good, wear it but perhaps in a modified way based on your new knowledge. This is all about feeling confident in your clothes so that you can show up as the best version of yourself each day.

The issue though, is it’s not the only law of the Universe. We can get so frustrated following LOA, that we forget there are other laws around that we need to put into consideration.

In fact, there are 12 Universal Laws out there.  When you aren’t getting anywhere in your manifesting, you have to look at the other laws.

They can truly hold the secret to all of your manifesting desires!

These Laws were discovered after we observed how the Universe behaved.  They are the how the Universe is structured and functions.  If you gain more knowledge in these laws, you can better understand how they connect to manifesting.  And with this knowledge, you can without a doubt, create a life beyond your wildest dreams!

Let’s take a look at each law and see how they can help you make your dreams your reality. They are in no particular order. Let’s start with the most famous law, the Law of Attraction.

Law of Attraction

Like attracts like.

This law reminds us that if we think about something, and we bring it into our reality. If you think about some pretty amazing things, the Universe hears these thoughts, and brings back to you some more of those pretty amazing things.  Ever think, “I don’t have any money!” And then, you become even worse off with money? It’s because the Universe heard you say you don’t have any money.  Since like attracts like, they bring you more of  “no money!”

Law of Divine Oneness

Everything and everyone is connected.

This law is super important to understand.  Since everything is connected, that means not one of us is better than or less than anyone else. The number one thing I have seen people do that blocks their manifesting abilities, is not believing in themselves.  We’re powerful spiritual beings!  We can do anything. Keep this Universal Law in your back pocket and watch how quickly things come to fruition for you.

Law of Vibration

Everything is made up of energy and has its own vibrational frequency.

This law is like the brother of Law of Attraction (LOA).  It helps you understand that every single thought, every word or action you make has a frequency.  Then, the LOA processes it and brings you more of that same energy vibration.  That is why it is critical to focus on what you DO want.  If you keep focusing on the good stuff, you’re carrying that vibration and the LOA will come in, and give you more of it.

Law of Inspired Action

Taking action you’re lead to take.

Inspired means, “In Spirit”.  This is the most critical law that is often forgotten about.  You can’t just write down affirmations and stare at your vision board.  You have to tune in to guidance and take actions that you are guided to take.  How do you know if the action is Spirit lead?  One way to tell is if the action feels good and more often than not, it is something you haven’t done before.

Law of Compensation

You receive what you put out there.  Give freely, get freely.

Ever hear of this one before?  Have you noticed people with a lot of money, giving a lot of money away?  You get more of what you give.  So, if you want more time give more time.

Law of Cause and Effect

Every action has an equal and opposite reaction.

This is the law where I give Spirit a break.  The truth is every single choice we make has a consequence whether it’s good or bad. So, if something isn’t happening for me, I trust that Spirit will bring it around when they’re able.  It just may mean they cannot do it right now because of the butterfly effect.  HINT: Don’t be sad if this happens to you because the Spirit rewards you with your patience and gives you something even better than you asked for.

Law of Correspondence

As above, so below.

Your outer world is the reflection of your inner world, and this law reminds us of this.  So, if there is craziness in your outer world, you must change up your inner dialogue and behavior. This will help you excel the manifesting process.

Law of Polarity

Everything has an opposite.

Imagine a magnet on the good thoughts you have and another on the not so good thoughts. These magnets are trying to connect to one another.  They’re drawn to each other, they can’t help it.  The stronger your connection is to the good thoughts, the further away the other magnet gets.  Hence, the easier it is for you to manifest!

Law of Rhythm

All things come in cycles.

Know that the Universe is like a pendulum, in constant state of motion with its own natural rhythm.  Your life is like this too.  You’re going to feel down sometimes, people are going to break promises, you’re going to have challenges.  What’s important is for you not to allow your own personal pendulum go too far in either direction.

Law of Perpetual Transmutation of Energy

Energy is forever moving.

Whenever I am feeling down and need a pick me up, I come to this law.  It helps me stay focused on my desires because it makes me remember that I am not helpless in any situation.  I can change my thoughts and feelings (and attract better vibes!) because energy is constantly moving. The truth is, lower vibrational thoughts (like depression, sadness, etc.) carry their own vibrational frequency.  You can change this by helping the energy get some momentum and move faster.  When this happens, the vibration changes to a higher frequency and therefore, changes those lower vibe thoughts to higher ones.  Love and compassion are the highest vibrating thoughts out there.  Heads up: This is why they say exercise, walking is super good for you. It helps you raise that vibration and become a manifesting magnet!

Law of Gender

Everything has feminine and masculine energies.

I recently learned that giving is a masculine energy. Crazy, right?  You’d think with how nurturing women are with their family and friends that this would be a feminine trait.  It’s not though.  Receiving is the feminine way.  This is important because you have to remember to have balance.  Noticing if you’re giving too much, and not receiving enough can help you bring to life what you are wanting.

Law of Relativity

Nothing is good or bad until compared to something else.

I call this the law of judgment.  We judge all of the time.  It doesn’t mean that you’re a snob or a bully.  This is natural for just about every one of us.  We judge things based on our past experience.  Our judgement is everywhere.  (This seat is soft! This music is loud…) Judgements can be compliments too! (She’s super pretty!  He has such a good voice.)  We say these things because we’re comparing them to something else we’ve already experienced.  How can this law help?  By noticing when we do this, and coming back to the place of things “just being.”

Following these laws has helped me manifest my house on a lake, a beautiful office, and my dream job.  Anytime I am at a loss on what to do next, I look back at these and pinpoint which one I am out of balance with.

Which law are you the most drawn to?  Are there any that are standing out to you that you feel that you need to apply right away?

I’d love to hear from you!
