Dr. Leslie Pham grew up in Orange County, CA. She moved to Rhode Island to attend the prestigious combined undergraduate medical program at Brown University. At Brown she earned her Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience as well as her medical degree. She graduated magna cum laude with Sigma Xi and Phi Beta Kappa Honors.
Dr. Pham completed her internship at the University of Pennsylvania, followed by her ophthalmology residency at University of Iowa and fellowship in Rhode Island. Dr. Pham then returned to Orange County to practice comprehensive ophthalmology in Huntington Beach, California.
In 2020, at the age of 40, Dr. Pham suffered a heart attack due to a little known condition called SCAD that affects young healthy females with no cardiovascular risk factors. Following successful open heart surgery, Dr. Pham developed a passion and determination to educate herself and others about the risks of heart disease in women. By telling her story, Dr. Pham hopes to raise awareness about SCAD and encourage everyone to live their life to the fullest and focus on the things that really matter.
